the trip here

Our trip here was difficult, but interesting. We left from Dallas to Chicago,
and then flew to Munich. We arrived in Munich at 9:30 am and were suppose to
leave for Hannover at 11:00. 10 minutes before we could board, a horrible storm
started. It rained and hailed, then snowed! So every flight out of Munich was
canceled. They gave us tickets for the next flight to Hannover and 10 Euros to
eat lunch. Apparently the weather in all of Germany was really bad and they
canceled the next two flights to Hannover. So they gave us a voucher for a
train ride from Munich to Hannover, which are on opposite sides of the country.
There was a train that left Munich at 6:45 pm and was a direct ride so it would
arrive in Hannover at 10:30 or so, but our luggage was lost so we missed it.
The next train we could get to Hannover left at 2:10 am. Since we had plenty of
extra time there, we wandered around the city and went and saw the Glockenspiel,
which was neat. We were in Munich for 17 hours total. On the way to Hannover,
we had to switch trains twice, once in Augsburg and then in Nuremberg, with a
1.5 hour wait. We got to Nuremberg at 4 something and wanted to walk around the
city a bit, but it was cold, rainy and there were a lot of scary people
everywhere, so we stayed in the train station. We finally got to Hannover
Sunday morning at 9:30. Sean got his luggage Monday morning and I got mine
Tuesday, when we had to go to the airport to tell them they had it and I wanted
it back.

location

If you look at the train map on the bottom of this page, I live at Kopernikusstr. If you look right in the middle, you should see Christuskirche and Kopernikusstr. is right above that.

Silly moment

Today I had to go talk to this guy, who is pretty much the dean of the international office, if there is such a thing. I went with Sean and Lara asked him my questions and when we were about to leave, he stopped me and asked, "Can I ask you something? It's kind of personal." So we were all like "ummmmmmmmmm...okay." And he explained how he is moving to Hannover soon, since right now he lives about 45 minutes away, and wants to come look at our apartment. He said he heard from our landlord lady that he might be able to live there, and that he should look at our apartment since he has contact with us. It was really funny and not as awkward as it almost seemed to be. We might just invite him to our housewarming party.

I have a very long post about the trip here...because it was a long trip here. So someday soon when I have enough time I will write it.

But until then: We were ridding on the bus, it should have only been a few blocks, but we got on the bus going the wrong way, so we were probably on it for like an hour (but it was warm and we didn't have to walk, so it was fun). At one stop light a car pulled in front of the bus super fast, so the bus driver had to slam on the breaks, and luckily Lara was in the seat across from me so I could fall on her and not die. Anyway, the bus driver honked at the guy who did that and he got out of his car and started yelling at the bus driver, and some teenager who looked Mexican started yelling at the fat guy for almost killing us. They almost got in a fist fight. It was crazy.

And the last few posts it decided I spoke Hindi or something, and I couldn't figure out how to make it in english, so I had fun with it because it was pretty.
